Walk with Darragh and my dad to van Schyck island and went to the mansion where George Washington visited, some chill out time for a while, Darragh went with Addison to her friends house for a while. When I first thought about this question it made sense to me that I would want to come here since I have lived here my whole life. I love the campus, the community, and the people. But I realized that there are other reasons I would like to come to school here. Having been in public school since fourth grade, I have had larger class sizes and a larger school community. With larger classes, I noticed that you don't get as much individual help. With a smaller class size, I feel like I could get more individual help and participate more both of which would help the depth of my learning. Thacher seems like a community where you make lifelong friends. It seems to me that living so closely with your peers you can create deeper bonds than at a day school. Having good friends is important for people's happiness and it’s fun. With the camping and horse programs, I will have an opportunity for adventures and making close connections. I would like the many challenges that Thacher has to offer — harder classes, riding horses, camping, meeting new people, and lots of homework. I know it won't always be easy but I will give it my all.

Fatalities from COVID-19 are reducing Americans’ support for Republicans at every level of federal office
Between early March and 1 August 2020, COVID-19 took the lives of more than 150,000 Americans. Here, we examine the political consequences of the COVID-19 epidemic using granular data on COVID-19 fatalities and the attitudes of the American public. We find that COVID-19 has led to substantial damage for President Trump and other Republican candidates. States and local areas with higher levels of COVID-19 fatalities are less likely to support President Trump and Republican candidates for House and Senate. Our results show that President Trump and other Republican candidates would benefit electorally from a reduction in COVID-19 fatalities. This implies that a greater emphasis on social distancing, masks, and other mitigation strategies would benefit the president and his allies.

This drives my husband a little bit crazy because our car is always full of books! I pay super close attention to the Matilija one, which has gotten a ton of use since it opened in February. Normally, I buy books from thrift stores, but they have all been closed lately. My young adult books are running low, so I thought I would write to folks who might have some books to offload.
